What do I need to run Surviving
World Steam Vehicles?
Recommended
Requirements:
- An IBM® compatible 486 or Pentium Computer with a minimum of 16 MB of
RAM and a Super VGA display (32,000 colors or greater recommended.) A CD-ROM
drive, and 147-106 MB of free hard disk space are needed (depending on the setup
options chosen*.) A sound card and speakers for listening to the audio clips,
and a copy of Microsoft Windows® (Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 2000,
Windows 98, Windows 95, or Windows NT.)
- Notes:
- An Internet connection is not required to run Surviving
World Steam Vehicles! If you have a notebook computer, take it with you on
your trips without need for an internet connection.
- In order to add pictures to the database, you will need a graphics editing
program that can copy pictures to the Windows clipboard for pasting into Surviving
World Steam Vehicles.
- * You can chose whether or not to install the included Quicktime movie on
your hard drive by choosing the "Typical" or "Compact"
option. It is also possible to run everything entirely off the CD-ROM;
however, you will not able to modify the database at all if you
choose this option, and you will have to modify the setup manually in order to do
so. (This option still uses 3MB for .dll files.)
